"When I started the Maintenance in Training (MIT) program at Bigos, I had a strong customer service background but little experience in the maintenance side of the world.  I have now been with Bigos for a year and feel that I have the skills to get the job done right each and every day.  Bigos has helped me obtain my CPO certification as well as my EPA certification. 

I work at a luxury high rise building consisting of 32 floors in Downtown St. Paul.  A property of this size comes with a lot of responsibility for each and every maintenance technician. The MIT program really helped kick start my career in maintenance. We had a set schedule for what we needed to learn each week, and I was able to learn how to prioritize my day, the basics of maintenance, and how to provide great service to our residents.  I was learning a lot of new information as an MIT, but I also had the peace of mind knowing that I had someone by my side to show and teach me the skills I need to really take off in my new career.

Every day I come to work I try to operate with integrity,  and be mindful and caring of everyone I come into contact with; whether that be coworkers, residents, vendors, or general public that walk through our building. Even if you have never done maintenance and come in, like myself, with a customer service background, do not be afraid to apply.  Bigos gave me the skills and tools that I needed to grow in my new career, and continue to every day. I can truly say that I enjoy my job!"

"Starting as a leasing consultant, I had no idea what I signed up for! You are part of something so big, you're making a real impact on the lives of your residents.

One of the biggest responsibilities of my job is meeting with prospects and selling the value of our product. Its important to understand not only our product, but also the current market & competitors. Creating real, long-term relationships with our customers is important to being a Leasing Consultant. I’ve found that being transparent & honest with our residents, and really listening to their needs is vital to succeeding at this.

My favorite part of the job is getting to work with people. Not only do I need to meet new people daily, but I get to establish real connections with them and introduce them to the place they’ll be calling their home for (hopefully) a long time.

Being part of Bigos Management has been the such a positive experience during my career. I am excited to move forward to a management role, and continue to gain more knowledge on the path to success in Property Management."

Assistant Property Manager

"I started with Bigos in December 2015.  When I first started at Bigos, I learned a lot about the industry.  I continually added more duties to my responsibilities which allowed me to learn other areas that aren’t typical for Assistant Property Managers. 

My primary responsibilities as an Assistant Property Manager include supervising the Leasing Team, overseeing all Accounts Receivables for the property, and Resident relations.  I work day-to-day with the Leasing Team at Era on Excelsior to provide them the necessary tools and skills to perform at their best.  Everything in my job comes down to working with our Residents whenever there are issues that need to be taken care of, good or bad, so that they have the best home possible.

From the moment someone first walks through our door, I always strive to make that person feel at home and welcome.  This is not just during personal interactions with someone, but also during daily tasks such as walking apartments, turns, and walking the property.  Staying aware of what is happening at your community helps you provide the best service and information.

My favorite part of the job would be the relationships I build with my coworkers at Era on Excelsior and within Bigos.  Working together in the office provides ample opportunity to get to know each other, which allows us to work well together and provide our residents with exceptional service."

"I started with Bigos Management in March of 2015. I came to Bigos seeking a company that provided a positive work environment and room for continued growth. The three biggest areas of my job are addressing resident's needs, setting my team up for success, and managing the daily operations of the property.

I try every day to lead by example and display great customer service consistently to my team. Ensuring that we are doing all we can as a staff to meet the residents needs. Also as a manager I want to ensure that I am giving the time and attention to my employees to help them grow and be successful.  

My favorite aspect of the job is the reward of having a positive effect on someones life while they spent their time here at Regency Woods. To be successful at this job, you need to be able to focus on using great customer service and building resident relationships. I have found that a high percentage of residents rent, and renew more often when great customer service is consistently displayed and strong resident relations are built.

Since being here, it has been refreshing coming to work each day knowing I have the support I need to succeed. I want to continue to grow as a manager here with Bigos and eventually hope to use my skills in other areas that can help Bigos excel."

"I started out with Bigos a little over 6 years ago as a entry level technician focusing on turnovers and property appearance. Over the years I have gained knowledge in appliance repairs, repairing garage doors, pinning locks, working on HVAC systems, installing appliances, unclogging drains and several other tasks.

Currently. I am a supervisor of a high rise community and I am in charge of ordering, delegating work orders, working with vendors and maintaining every piece of mechanical equipment in my buildings. I am responsible for delegating the work load to my team members. I work very closely with my Property Manager and team with regards to daily/monthly expenses and workflow.

 

I have trained my team and lead daily in providing excellent service to our residents ensuring that they have a well maintained home to live in.I am the example of providing excellent service to our residents, customers and to our company. I enjoy sharing my vision and confidence with my team and seeing the accomplishments that come from that.
